NAIROBI, Kenya, March 29- AccessKenya on Tuesday unveiled a Sh4 million co-sponsorship package to the Kenya Open Golf Tournament set for the Muthaiga Golf Club that tees off from March 31st to April 3rd.
The listed ISP firm will be the tournament’s Official Technology Partner providing hi-tech technology touch to the event. The event kicks off with the Pro arm on Thursday.
“By way of partnering with the organizers of this leading golfing tournament, we are delighted to play a significant technological role that will guarantee real time communication and continuous updates of the goings on at the tournament with the rest of the world. We will provide a high speed internet enabled media centre, players’ cyber café, internet to the PGA office, score recorders’ office, event management office and WIFI hotspots,” said AccessKenya Group Communications Manager, Nancy Imunde.
The firm will provide a co sponsorship fee of Sh1 million, and Sh3 million towards installation of high speed Internet.
They will also run a hi-tech media centre that will comprise 12 high speed internet enabled computers for use by local and international press to file their stories and images real time to their media houses. The center will also have printing services including the latest Internet enabled printing solutions and VOIP for local and international press covering the event.
