Kenya to face Kiwis in Vegas

NAIROBI, Kenya, January 20- Kenya have been drawn with New Zealand in the Pool stage of the Las Vegas leg of the IRB Sevens Series.

World Cup Sevens champions Wales and Uruguay make up the rest of Pool B which provides nothing else but another minefield for Benjamin Ayimba’s who have gotten off to a rocky start this season.

Kenya has failed to collect a point in any of the first two legs of the series in Dubai and George with only a shield title to show for their efforts.

In the preceding week, Kenya have to deal with a southern hemisphere storm in Wellington where Pool C rivals Samoa, Australia and Tonga lie in wait.

Ayimba who named his team on Tuesday recalled Collins Injera, Biko Adema and Lavin Asego while handing Kenya XVs backrowers Oscar Ouma and Lawrence Buyachi their first call ups.

The Vegas leg will take place between February 12-13.

Pools:

Pool A: England, Argentina, France, Guyana
Pool B: NewZealand, Wales, Kenya, Uruguay
Pool C: Fiji, Australia, Scotland, Canada
Pool D: Samoa, South Africa, USA, Japan
