NAIROBI, Kenya, September 23- Over 200 golfers are expected to take part in this weekend’s Dasani Golf Gala at Limuru Country Club.
Up for grabs are four qualification team spots and an all expenses golf trip to the Gary Player Invitational and the Coca-Cola Championship to be held at the Fancourt Golf Resort in George, South Africa in November.
The Gala kicked off in June at the Njoro Country Club where members of Nakuru, Great Rift, Gilgil, Naivasha and hosts Njoro became the first to enjoy the Dasani Golf Gala. In July the gala visited Sigona, Karen, Railway, Eldoret Club and Royal Nairobi Golf Club before moving to Machakos, Kiambu, Windsor and Kisii in August.
According to the Coca-Cola Country Manager, Peter Njonjo, the Gala was the first golf series in Kenya to visit Kisii.
“We structured the Dasani Golf Gala in partnership with the various Coca-Cola Bottlers around the country and as you may know, Kisiii is home to the Kisii Bottlers,” said Njonjo.
“The members of Kisii supported the Gala tremendously and we ended up having a great event there,” he added.
In September the Gala moved to the shores of Lake Victoria at the Nyanza Club, to the foot of Mt. Kenya at the Nyeri Club and to the heart of pineapple country at the Thika Sports Club.
“At Nyanza we joined hands with Equator Bottlers to host golfers from Kericho, Kakamega, Mumias at Nyeri we joined Mt. Kenya Bottlers to host golfers from Nyahururu, Nanyuki and Nyeri, it has been a very exciting time for us and our associates,” said Njonjo.
“We are also glad to note that the non-golfers among us have taken up the sport, taking advantage of the free lessons offered at each venue at the Dasani Cool Zone,” he added.
