JOHANNESBURG, July 8 – Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder said on Thursday that he will be staying with Italian and European champions Inter Milan despite being courted by English giants Manchester United.
"I am staying. I will play for Inter Milan next season," said Sneijder, who will be hoping to help Holland to a first World Cup title in Sunday’s final against Spain.
"My heart is in Milan. With Inter, I won everything last season (Italian league, Champions League) and there’s a lot more to win like the European Super Cup, Italian Super Cup and the World Club Cup which are all great trophies."
Sneijder is aware of Manchester United’s interest, but Inter president Massimo Moratti told the Italian press on Wednesday that the midfielder, the joint top-scorer at the World Cup, was not for sale.
