PRETORIA, June 29- Thieves have stolen replica trophies from football world governing body FIFA's offices near the venue for the World Cup final, South Africa's police commissioner said Tuesday. In a press conference, Bheki Cele said the theft of the seven trophies and several jerseys at the Soccer City complex in Johannesburg appeared to be an inside job, without giving further details.
"We are looking into it. The suspects are people who are very familiar with the environment," said Cele.
A FIFA spokesman told journalists he was unaware of the incident.
"I am not aware of that," said Wolfgang Eichler at FIFA’s daily World Cup briefing.
A spokesman for the local organising committee said he was also unaware of the theft.
