Kibaki meets Bolt

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 2 – Jamaican sprint king Usain Bolt paid President Mwai Kibaki a courtesy call at Harambee House on Monday.KIBAKI_AND_BOLTDuring the meeting, President Kibaki and the Jamaican champion discussed activities of the Zeitz Foundation which advocates for the sustainable use of environment.

Bolt, who is the global ambassador for sports for the Zeitz Foundation, has been in the country for the official launch of the foundation and establishment of a conservation program.

President Kibaki congratulated the athlete and encouraged him to make more visits to the country, saying he was an inspiration to the country’s youth.  

On his part, Bolt said he was accorded warm reception since his arrival in the country and appreciated Kenyans’ hospitality.

The Jamaican champion said he was planning to visit Kenya again to sample more of the country’s tourist attraction sites.

Present were Tourism Minister Najib Balala, Foreign Affairs Minister Moses Wetangula, Internal Security Minister Prof. George Saitoti and the Head of Public Service and Secretary to the Cabinet Amb. Francis Muthaura among others.
