LONDON, July 21 – Norway international Bjorn Helge Riise is on the verge of joining Fulham after flying to London for a medical, the Premier League club confirmed on Monday. The 26-year-old midfielder – the younger brother of former Liverpool left-back John Arne Riise – convinced Fulham boss Roy Hodgson he was worth signing with some impressive displays for his country.
"Norwegian midfield player Bjorn Helge Riise has travelled to London for talks with the club and is currently undergoing a medical examination," the club said in a statement.
"This process is not due to be completed until late on Tuesday."
Riise joined Standard Liege in 2003 before moving on to FC Brussels and then signing for Lillestrom in 2005.
He is set to become Fulham’s second close-season signing following the capture of right-back Stephen Kelly from Birmingham.
