Irish rock quartet U2 have been confirmed as one the major acts set to perform at this years 86th Academy Awards in Los Angeles.
The band which has been on hiatus since 2009 will be playing there new single titled ‘Ordinary Love’ which is off the new film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
Aside from performing at this year Oscars, Bono recently confirmed that there new album is scheduled for release come late 2014 adding that the LP will have a much more different sound than there previous work.
The group who have won themselves various accolades which include 22 Grammy awards will bring the house down alongside the likes of fellow singer Pharell Williams of whom there going up against in the Best Original Song category.
U2 are battling for the nod not just against Williams but as well as Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez for the film ‘Frozen’ and Spike Jonze for ‘Her’.
TV Talk Show Host Ellen Degeneres will host the event set to take place at The Dolby Theater in LA come March 2nd.
