These singers and getting into trouble on twitter smh. So the very talented Jill Scott got dissed by fans over twerking this past weekend. Earlier singer-songwriter Jill Scott took to twitter to speak on the popular twerking craze which she thinks was invented in a bathroom.
She said quote;
@missjillscott Twerking was invented when some woman of African descent ran out of toilet paper. There’s plenty now. Kmart, 7-eleven, target..good prices 2
As expected, “African descent” reference ruffled some of her follower’s feathers. Which resulted to the thread of tweets below;
@missjillscott I will disagree with that Jill, as an African woman. We don’t actually twerk in Africa.
@sncongwane I’m south african & I take offense @missjillscott: that’s not a very nice thing to say …especially since you are a black woman yourself
Goodness-gracious @missjillscott… Are you really saying African women are twerking because they can’t afford toilet paper???
Ok, maybe Jilly From Philly isn’t a fan of twerking. Truth be told, there are plenty of people who aren’t, and yes what she said was quite offensive and she needed to be put in her place….am just saying.
