It’s hard to believe that it’s been seven long years since the genius mash-up of Justin Timberlake and Timberland when they left us with FutureSex/LoveSounds. Well, good news is that they are finally back with all mature and sounding better than ever! The 20/20 Experience hit the shelves on Friday March the 15th 2013 after a month long hype-up from its hit single “Suit & Tie” featuring Jay-Z. It personally didn’t sink in well at first because of what I anticipated from the two, but after giving the album a listen, I understood the style JT intended for his 3rd solo album and couldn’t help thanking him for reminding us that Justin Bieber is not the future of pop music!
Like anyone would first look at when getting a new record is look at the track list hoping they’d be well below 20, I noted this one was right above 9…with only 10 tracks! But what makes these songs supreme is the unique style they’ve been mastered in! And it’s also a huge plus that nine of them average a time of 5+ minutes making the overall listen of the full album an awesome hour and 9 minutes.

My favorite song after a hard consideration why all of them can’t be my favorite has to be Strawberry Bubblegum. I know what any man reading this would think at this point; and I agree, I’d rather be caught dead than point out to such a song title as one of my best singles, but the groove and well placed attention to the beat especially when it blends into its outro from 5:00 to the end makes this song uniquely supreme! You’ll be welcomed to the album with a funky old-school feeling when you listen to Pusher Love Girl that will remind you of those African-American movies that have that in sync boy-band singing at some street corner with their guitar case open with not more that a dollar in coins scattered inside!
Justin Timberlake remains mellow-voiced, but effortlessly classy; so if you fear being disappointed with his latest collection, remember he’s still the same guy who gave you reason to forgive him for being part of an annoying boy-band and allowed him to make you believe that he’d actually brought sexy back from wherever it is he’d been hiding it!
