A soccer game had to be stopped when a parachutist landed on the pitch much to the surprise of the 1,000-strong crowd who applauded as he collected his gear and made his way off the field.
The guy crash landed while Salisbury City entertained Chester FC, and the away side’s Danny Higginbotham – who has played for Premier League sides Manchester United and Stoke City – couldn’t believe what was happening.
He wrote on Twitter: “The most bizarre thing I have ever seen on a football pitch happened today.
“Half way through the second half out of nowhere a parachutist landed on the pitch.
“No idea where he was supposed to land but he hit the ground hard. #bizarre. (sic)”
But the 1,000-strong crowd at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium in Wiltshire, south west England, seemed to enjoy the unusual incident and applauded the parachutist as he made his way off the field.
