Her Majesty’s 2001 Super V8 LWB green limousine – which she drove for three years until 2004 – was sold by auction house Historics at Brooklands in Surrey, South London, to a mystery buyer.
The car, which was returned to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust in 2004, was sold with a mileage of 15,242 and all of its original specifications.
The vehicle’s boot was built with fittings to enable direct contact to the Home Office and Downing Street in case of an emergency and while these are still present the working components have since been removed.
The interiors of the vehicle include an armrest that has a sliding holder specifically designed for the Queen’s handbag, an ashtray that has the security lighting controls and luxurious lambswool floor rugs.
The car came was sold with two sets of keys, the original registration number and photographs of the Queen driving and being driven in it.
