The ‘Hot in Here’ rapper, 40, doesn’t believe the 24-year-old singer looks like a typical pop star but, despite his average looks, he thinks his talent is unbelievably good.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “Ed Sheeran is a freak man, you look at him and think, ‘He can’t be a pop star’, but he’s killing it. He’s unlikely, but for today, with what’s going on, maybe he is a likely pop star.”
Although he might not fit in with the typical pop star image, Ed is certainly doing well for himself as he recently launched his own record label, Gingerbread Man Records.
Meanwhile, the ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker has had a whirlwind few years and has now decided to spend nine months away from the spotlight to be with his family.
He said recently: “I’ll put a post out saying, ‘I’m with friends and family – if you love me you’ll allow me to disappear for a few months and I’ll speak to you in a bit’. I think a break for me is coming off my phone, social media and emails.”
He added: “I am constantly on my phone, texting, replying to emails, on Twitter, on Snapchat, on Facebook.
“I just want to get off it and live and drive to places and listen to music and have normal conversations with people and get back to normality. I’ve got a packed schedule, then, when December 12 comes, it’s done.”
