Lupita Nyong’o and Lea Seydoux nominated for BAFTA award

LupitaLupita Nyong’o and Lea Seydoux have been nominated for this year’s BAFTA Rising Star award along with Will Poulter and George MacKay.

The ’12 Years A Slave’ actress and the ‘Blue Is The Warmest Colour’ star will go head-to-head for the gong at the glamorous event in central London next month.

Seydoux was over the moon that she had been nominated for the award and was impressed by how many people were touched by her lesbian storyline in the movie.

She is quoted by the Daily Mail newspaper as saying: “I am very touched, the fact that the British Academy chose me. The fact that I’m on my own makes me feel the people here recognise my work.

“It was a big success in France and all over the world. So all the people are very touched by the film, and I’m very proud of the film and the fact that everybody loves it. It’s amazing the fact you do a work that everybody sees, I was not expecting that much.”

Will Poulter – who starred alongside Jennifer Aniston in ‘We’re the Millers’ – and George MacKay, both from the UK, have also been short-listed for the award.

Meanwhile, rounding off the nominations was ‘Kill Your Darlings’ star Dane DeHaan.

The winners will be selected by a public vote and will be announced on February 16.
