The ‘Royals’ hitmaker, who performed at the 56th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, claims she still enjoys using public transport when she has time.
The 17-year-old New Zealand-native told UsMagazine.com at Delta Airline’s Grammy Weekend party in West Hollywood: “I mean I feel like I catch public transport slightly less than I did, just because sometimes I’m on a strict time limit. But I mean I still do it quite a lot back home.”
The singer, who is nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album for ‘Pure Heroine’ at the Grammys, performed for stars, including Kaley Cuoco and her husband Ryan Sweeting, newly-single Hilary Duff, Anna Kendrick and Ashley Benson at the event.
A source said: “Lorde is a star. She has incredible energy. She will be the next Madonna.”
Also on the bill at tonight’s ceremony are Madonna, Beyoncé, Jay Z, Katy Perry, Robin Thicke, Chicago, Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons as well as legendary The Beatles musicians Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
The 56th annual Grammy Awards will be hosted by LL Cool J and broadcast live on the CBS network in the US from the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
