Aussie Pop Princess Kylie Minogue has been confirmed as a judge on Australia’s very own version of The Voice.
Minogue announced the news through her official Twitter page this past weekend, the singer will be joining the coaching panel on The Voice: Australia’ alongside Latin heart throb Ricky Martin, punk rocker Joel Madden of Good Charlotte and Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas.
The crew has already started filming the British spin off TV talent show which is set premiere next year.
In the UK, The Voice has struggled against rival talent shows such as Britain’s Got Talent.
In Australia, however, the position is reversed. For the second episode of the 2012 series one in 10 Australians tuned in, far more than for Australia’s Got Talent.
Every episode bar one was the most popular TV show on the evening it was broadcast.
Recruiting Minogue, still Australia’s most internationally famous pop star, is a coup for The Voice. Last year she celebrated her 25th year in show business since.
In a statement, Minogue said she was “so excited to be coming home and being a coach on The Voice.
“I look forward to spending time in Australia, getting up close and personal with new talent and working alongside the three amazing artists.”
Now Minogue’s last album Aphrodite was released in 2010 and reached at number #1 in the United Kingdom.
