After 3 months of grueling tasks, crazy photo shoots and endless amounts of pressure, Africa’s very first Top Model was announced last night during a star studded ceremony which took place in Cape Town South Africa.
20 year old Aamito Stacie Lagum, representing the nation of Uganda, became Africa’s Next Top Model in a competition which saw Africa’s finest models compete in a race for super stardom in the International modeling industry.
As announced in the final show yesterday, Lagum will receive a 1-year modeling contract with New York based modeling agency DNA Model Management, a product endorsement deal with P&G, a 12 month contract as an ambassador for the South African Tourism Board, Legum will also be the face of alcoholic brand SNAPP as well as for mobile operator Etisalat, and to top it off a cash prize of 50,000 USD.
The show which aired exclusively to DSTV’S Africa Magic Channel is a franchise format of America’s Next Top Model, a television franchise that was created by American Supermodel Tyra Banks, and hosted by Supermodel Oluchi.
For the last nine weeks, the show had followed twelve supermodel hopefuls from across the African continent as they strived to prove they had what it took to make it in the cutthroat world of modeling.
