The Burger King employee shared the bizarre snap on his Twitter account – which he has since deleted – along with other photographs of him pulling pranks with pieces of store equipment.
Alongside the picture, he tweeted: “How many Whopper Juniors do you think I’ve made? See if you can figure it out for yourself.”
Another photo of him with a dirty bucket also caused uproar on a Japanese forum, with members of the public emailing in to demand strict action be taken against the prankster considering the country’s strict expectations of food preparation.
Burger King Japan has since issued a statement of apology, claiming that none of the baps in the photograph were served to customers.
