NAIROBI, Kenya Sep 9 – The Communications Authority of Kenya and Smart Applications International Group have recently commissioned the use of the Biometric Smart Access Technology that will see CA staff use Virtual Medical Cards at designated local hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The CA Director General, Ezra Chiloba, noted that adoption of Smart Biometric Smart Access Technology signifies a big step towards modernizing and optimizing healthcare access for its workforce, aligning with broader e-health Initiatives being undertaken by the Government of Kenya. The technology will support CA\u2019s Human Resources function to elevate employee experience and enable real-time reports of the Scheme’s Performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The solution, which is hinged on the use of a Member Virtual Card on the Smart Access App or a user dialing USSD Code *891#, is an inclusive technology that takes into consideration smartphone and feature phone users. It also takes into account the high penetration of mobile phones in Kenya, which according to CA stands at 124.5%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
