{"id":719732,"date":"2023-02-28T11:55:37","date_gmt":"2023-02-28T08:55:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.capitalfm.co.ke\/news\/?p=719732"},"modified":"2023-02-28T11:55:55","modified_gmt":"2023-02-28T08:55:55","slug":"senate-house-majority-leaders-contest-supreme-court-lgbt-verdict","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.capitalfm.co.ke\/news\/2023\/02\/senate-house-majority-leaders-contest-supreme-court-lgbt-verdict\/","title":{"rendered":"Senate, House Majority Leaders contest Supreme Court LGBT verdict"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 28 &#8212; Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho) and his National Assembly counterpart Kimani Ichung&#8217;wah (Kikuyu) have termed Friday\u2019s ruling of the Supreme Court of Kenya on gay rights as absurd.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cheruiyout condemned what he called a ruling against the natural law of justice which could erode the moral ethos of young folk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;There is a serious contradiction, in that you cannot tell me that, what I am engaged in, is illegality as per the laws of the land but then go ahead to give me an illegality to caucus and have a union of the same illegality.
