NAIROBI, Kenya Jan 10 – Former Prisons Commissioner Isaiah Osugo is dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His family says he passed on last night at the Nairobi Hospital ICU where he had been admitted for a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Osugo is a career police officer who served as the prisons boss from September 2008 when he was plucked from the police by former President Mwai Kibaki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He retired in 2019 on attaining the mandatory retirement age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Osugo is credited for steering far-reaching reforms at the prisons department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has previously served as the Provincial Criminal Investigations Officer in Nairobi among other postings within the police ranks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
