The statement by the VP came as his lieutenants and those of Odinga met in Nairobi to craft the agreement at Lands Minister James Orengo’s private office in the city centre\/VPPS<\/p><\/div>\n

TSEIKURU, Kenya, Dec 3 – Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM), and Moses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya are set to sign a coalition agreement on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made by Musyoka who spoke in Tseikuru – Mwingi North constituency – after registering as a voter on Monday. The VP said that there was an agreement between the parties to work together ahead of the 2013 General Election.<\/p>\n

The statement by the VP came as his lieutenants and those of Odinga met in Nairobi to craft the agreement at Lands Minister James Orengo’s private office in the city centre.<\/p>\n

Musyoka said the agreement will involve a team of leaders who are serious in the fight against tribalism and negative ethnicity.<\/p>\n

“After we sign the agreement tomorrow (Tuesday), Kenyans will then know who true reformers are in this country,” said Musyoka.<\/p>\n

“Tribalism is becoming stronger now than during the 2007 general election,” said Musyoka who was accompanied by Kibwezi MP Philip Kaloki.<\/p>\n

He urged Kenyans to reject leaders who are agents of tribalism and elect those who can unite all the Kenyan communities irrespective of tribal and political affiliations.<\/p>\n

A dispatch from Musyoka’s press team had indicated that the deal would have been between ODM, WDM and Justice Minister Eugene Wamalwa’s New Ford Kenya.<\/p>\n

The Justice Minister however quickly denied that he was part of the pact even as his ally Musikari Kombo was spotted entering Orengo’s office.<\/p>\n

An invite from Mwingi South MP David Musila and Public Service Minister Dalmas Otieno to the deal signing at the KICC indicated it was Wetangula’s Ford Kenya and not New Ford Kenya.<\/p>\n

“The party leaders of ODM, WDM and Ford Kenya and other parties hereby invite all Kenyans to witness the execution of coalition agreement at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre on December 4,” read the invite.<\/p>\n

Among those at the meeting at Orengo’s private office at Lonrho House were Education Minister Mutula Kilonzo, David Musila, Johnson Muthama and Mohammed Affey.<\/p>\n

Odinga’s team at the six-hour talks was represented by Orengo, Medical services Minister Anyang’ Nyong’o, Otieno and East African Community Minister Musa Sirma.<\/p>\n

Later, Cabinet Minister Charity Ngilu was seen emerging from the offices in the company of Mutito MP Kiema Kilonzo.<\/p>\n

A cabinet minister who attended the meeting in Orengo’s office told Capital FM News that there was already an agreement reached during the meeting.<\/p>\n

“We have a deal; there have been wide consultations between the two parties and we look forward to the signing,” said the minister who sought anonymity.<\/p>\n

Monday’s meeting followed another one between Odinga and Musyoka on Sunday night in Karen in a bid to hammer out a pre-election pact before Tuesday’s deadline.<\/p>\n

Odinga who had been in Tononoka for a rally on Sunday is said to have had a lengthy discussion with the VP in a meeting that continued into the wee hours of Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Sources close to the two said that the two were expected to meet later Monday after their various engagements. Odinga was in Narok County to address rallies in Oltepesi and Nairagie Enkare.<\/p>\n

Musyoka last Saturday disputed reports that he had already agreed to a pact with ODM and insisted that the Wiper Party National Executive Council has not met to discuss the deal.<\/p>\n

The developments came even as the National Alliance (TNA) led by Uhuru Kenyatta and the United Republican Party (URP) signed the pre election deal on Monday afternoon at Nairobi’s Jevanjee Gardens.
