For fear of traffic ahead of US President Barack Obama’s arrival on Friday evening, some schools closed for the day with some banks informing their clients that they would cut short their operating hours.<\/p>\n
Nairobi Commandant Benson Kibue having announced on Wednesday that some roads would be closed from as early as 2pm on Friday.<\/p>\n
The Judiciary also announced that there would be no court proceedings at the Milimani Law Courts Friday.<\/p>\n
On Thursday police released a more elaborate traffic plan for the capital Nairobi starting with the total closure of Mombasa road from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Haile Sellasie, a section of Waiyaki Way through to Westlands from 3 pm.<\/p>\n
Vehicles from Westlands to the CBD have been advised to use Ring Road, James Gichuru and Parklands while those from the CBD to Westlands are advised to use Murang’a Road, Ring Road and James Gichuru.<\/p>\n
There will be no access to Westlands on Saturday from the University Way roundabout and those headed to Westlands are advised to use Murang’a Road and Parklands or Ringroad.<\/p>\n
Forest Road, Limuru Road and UN Avenue will be closed the whole day Saturday.<\/p>\n
From 3pm to 11 pm Saturday, there will be no access to Kenyatta Avenue, State House Road and the road between University Way and Westlands.<\/p>\n
Motorists have been warned to keep off Thika Road up to Ruiru from 9am to 4pm on Sunday because the president’s engagements at the Safaricom Stadium and the Kenyatta University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
