You are traitors! resign, Raila tells ODM MPs who visited State House

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 9 – Opposition Leader Raila Odinga has told Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Members of Parliament who have warmed up to President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Administration to resign.

According to Odinga, the meeting where the opposition lawmakers from Jubilee and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) President Ruto in Statehouse was not sanctioned by Azimio.

“The people had not gone to ask the people who elected them whether they want to go to Kenya Kwanza,” he said.

“These members who have defected from Azimio need to resign from the positions and go,” Odinga added during Azimio’s PG meeting.

The ODM leader scoffed at the explanation by the MPs who met President Ruto in search of unity and development for the constituents.

Odinga expressed the 2010 constitution clearly separates functions between the Executive and Legislature and therefore Statehouse visits to strategize development were unwarranted.

“These people must be seen for what they are. They are traitors in the cause of the revolution!”he exclaimed.

Odinga further poured cold water on Speaker Moses Wetangula ruling that Kenya Kwanza Alliance holds the majority in the National Assembly.

He pointed out that all post coalition agreement made ever since August 9th general elections were nothing short of ‘political prostitution’.

“Political prostitution must be condemned by all civilized Kenyans and then now the Kenya Kwanza Alliance is celebrating of having a majority. It’s a superficial majority,”Odinga noted.

Wetangula ruled that Kenya Kwanza Alliance has majority with 179 MPs with Azimio La Umoja minority with 157 MPs.

He based his ruling on the move by MCCP, PAA, UDM and MDG to sign a post election agreement with KKA.
