NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 9 – Former Cabinet Secretary and Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju has disclosed that he is the immediate cousin of the late former Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha’s.
Speaking during the memorial mass held at Consolata Shrine, Tuju who is also the Master of Ceremonies narrated that his relation to the late Professor Magoha stems from the fact that was raised by professor Magoha’s mother.
Tuju who served as a Cabinet Secretary with no portfolio in former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s joked that former Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua would have objected to Magoha’s appointment to the Cabinet had he been aware of the family relation.
Cabinet Secretaries Ezekiel Machogu and Eliud Owalo were among top government officials who joined Magoha’s family at the Memorial Mass at the Consolata Shrine in Westlands.
Nairobi Catholic Archbishop Phillip Anyolo is presiding over the Mass which held in line with the doctrines of catholicism.
Former Head of Public Service and Secretary of the Cabinet Joseph is leading government officials who served under former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.
Dr Walter Mwanda, Magoha’s close friend, eulogized him as a God-fearing man who was always keen to ensure any assignment he was given is done perfectly to conclusion.
Students from Starehe Boys Centre delivered the Mass Readings.
Magoha is set to be buried on Saturday at his home in Yala, Siaya County.
