Elderly man survives three days in well his son threw him in

BOMET, Kenya, Jan 28 – An elderly man is fighting for his life at Longisa County referral hospital after spending three days inside a 20 feet well.

Samuel Tanui aged 60 years from Emitiot sub location, Chepalungu Sub County, Bomet, is said to have ended up in the hole after his son threw him in following wrangles over family land.

According to area Assistant Chief Lenny Ngeno, Tanui had earlier refused to allow his 22-year old son Charles Kiplangat Rotich permission to sell family land leading to his intention to kill his father.

Ngeno said Rotich went about his daily business thinking that his father was dead.

He further stated that the soaked man managed to wail hard enough for some of the passersby to hear him and that was when he was rescued in a pathetic condition.

He said villagers managed to pull him out of the round hole before he was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.

Rotich was said to have arrived home Friday evening oblivious of the police who laid ambush and was arrested before being held at Longisa police post and later transferred to Bomet police station
