NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 8 – Kenyan tech startup – Kasuku NFT has announced a partnership with Capital FM to launch a collection of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT).
The partnership will see Capital FM take a major step towards its exploration of web3 making it the first media station in Sub-Saharan Africa to enter the digital world with a new way to engage its audience.
The NFT collection will be available on the Kasuku platform starting early next year and will be minted on Savannah, an innovative blockchain network made by the same start up – the first in Africa.
“The foundation we are building with Web3 (a blockchain-based vision of the internet) will lead to new creative opportunities for partnerships, engagement through digital goods and a path towards a more inclusive future” said Kasuku NFT Co-Founder and CEO, Mowgli Dodhia.
The collection seeks to celebrate some of the legends of the Capital brand including the late Chris Kirubi better known as DJ CK, DJ Adrian amongst others.
Capital FM listeners will be directed towards cryptocurrency resources to set up a digital wallet to interface with the NFT’s.
They will also be able to buy and sell on the Kasuku NFT marketplace with traditional payment systems such as credit cards and M-PESA.
