Vetting of PS nominees to proceed after Court throws out suits challenging exercise

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 29 – The vetting of Principal Secretary nominees by the National Assembly is set to proceed after the Employment and Labour Relations Court threw out the consolidated cases challenging the exercise.

Justice Mathew Nderi said that the application filed by the Law society of Kenya seeking to hold the process was filled prematurely, the applicant should have waited the completion of the vetting and challenge the process.

In the upshot, the National Assembly will be free to commence the exercise of vetting and forward the names to President for appointment

The orders stopping the process was issued by Justice Nzioki Wamakau who directed that the matter be heard before another judge .
