Fatuma Gedi among 7 nominees tipped to join CRA after MPs approval

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 27 – Former Wajir County Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi is among seven individuals nominated to join the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) as members.

Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula confirmed that he had received the names from the leadership of the majority and minority in the House.

He said Benedict Muasya Mutiso, Jonas Vincent Kuko, Isabel Nyambura Waiyaki, and Hadija Nganyi Juma have been picked by the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya has on its part picked Wilfred Koitamet Olekina Nchoshoi, George Jalang’o Midiwo, and Gedi.

The Speaker has directed the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning to conduct approval hearings to determine their suitability to hold office.

The nominees were selected from a pool of 139 applicants who expressed interest in forming part of the agency that is tasked with recommending the basis for equitable sharing of revenues raised nationally between the national and the county governments.

If approved, the new team will take over after the term of members serving in the commission ends on the 31st of December.
