, KISUMU, Kenya, Jan 4 – Kisumu county woman representative Roza Akinyi Buyu has condemned the remarks by Kandara MP Alice Wahome on the administration of President Uhuru Kenyatta leadership.

Buyu says the statement was reckless and unfortunate adding that the MP is openly being used to rock the leadership of the Head of State and the unity pact with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

“How can you say that Raila is a mercenary for hire. When you look at Raila’s history and life, you will definitely know that he has always chosen the right road to get you to where we are including being in detention.”

“Wahome must be respectful, you do not have to be abusive in order to be presumed to be a good leader or gain favours from Deputy President William Ruto,” said Buyu.

The MP who is also the national vice-chairperson of Kenya Women Parliamentarians Association says women leaders must not allow themselves to be used to fight political wars adding that they should instead take up their rightful position in service provision.

The Kandara legislator has come under criticism after she claimed President Kenyatta wants to cling on to power after the expiry of his term in 2022.
