Public Service commission confirms Stephen Rotich as CEO

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 2 – Public Service Commission Chairman Stephen Kigoro has gazetted the appointment Simon Kibet Rotich as its chief executive officer for a period of five years.

The appointment is contained in a Gazette Notice in which Kigoro says August 1 is the effective date for the appointment should take effect.

Rotich is now charged with the responsibility to drive the Commission Secretariat to enable the Commission deliver its mandate which entails the provision of competent human resource, promotion of good governance and ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in the provision of quality services in the Public Service.

The PSC Board had in March last year confirmed Rotich to the post in an acting capacity so that he can replace Alice Otwala following her appointment as Commissioner National Police Service Commission.

Prior to the appointment, Rotich was Deputy Secretary, Corporate Services at the Commission, and was the substantive Deputy to the Secretary/CEO.

According to information of the PSC website, Rotich is a career administrator with over thirty years progressive experience, and is credited with a deep understanding of Government administration which has ensured successful implementation and delivery of services to the people in the areas and positions he has served in.
