NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 7 – The Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley, was Saturday set to open a Caribbean Community Diplomatic Office at the Two Rivers Complex on Limuru Road.
Mottley will be flanked by Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma during the event which will build up to the 2019 African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States conference set to be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) beginning Sunday.
“I have arrived in Nairobi, Kenya to participate in the 9th ACP Summit as we prepare to negotiate a post-Cotonou Agreement,” she tweeted.
Barbados was among Caribbean nations President Uhuru Kenyatta toured in August during a 3-day visit in the region.
The visit also saw the Head of State hold talks with Jamaican Governor-General Patrick Allen and Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
During the tour, President Kenyatta sought the support of Caribbean nations for Kenya’s bid for a non-permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council for the 2021/2022 term.
