12 kilograms of bhang impounded along Thika-Garissa highway

The bhang is said to have been ferried from Kayole, Nairobi and was destined for Mandera/CFM – FILE

KITUI, Kenya, Dec 18 – Police in Kitui Wednesday seized 12 kilograms of bhang along Thika-Garrissa highway at Kanyonyoo area.

Lower Yatta police boss Richard Chacha said a vehicle, its driver and another suspect were nabbed after discovering the consignment destined to Nairobi’s Kayole.

He said security officers have increased surveillance on both public and private service vehicles during the festive season, to avert crime.

“The bhang was concealed in one sack and hidden in a suitcase with clothes,” he said.

The suspects were placed under custody at Kanyonyoo police station awaiting arraignment in court on Thursday, Chacha said.

The bhang is said to have destined for Mandera from Kayole in Nairobi.
