MOMBASA, Kenya Oct 17 – Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa was freed Thursday on a bond of Sh1 million or an alternative cash bail of Sh500,000 in the investigation on Malindi chaos where one person was shot dead.

Mombasa Senior Resident Magistrate Vincent Adet rejected an application by the prosecution to have the two detained for 21 days to enable police complete investigations on the Tuesday night chaos in Ganda Ward.

Jumwa is accused of storming a meeting organised by ODM candidate Reuben Katana at his home, where chaos ensued, with locals accusing her bodyguard of shooting a person who later succumbed to injuries in hospital.

The deceased was identified as Gumbao Julo, 48 an uncle to the ODM candidate.
