NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 11 – Silverstone Air announced Friday that 9 people were injured when one of its planes crashed at Wilson airport.
Sheila Muturi, the airline’s Accountable Manager said they were all taken to various city hospitals, and that an investigation was underway to establish the cause.
“We can now confirm that there were nine passengers who sustained injuries and are all receiving treatment,” she told a news conference at Wilson after the incident.
There were 55 passengers on board, including 5 crew.
The aircraft was destined to Lamu through Mombasa.
A statement issued earlier by the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) had stated that only two passengers were injured.
