NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 18 – Sarah Wairimu, the widow of Dutch Tycoon Tob Cohen arrived at the Chiromo Funeral Parlour at midday on Wednesday ahead of a scheduled autopsy to ascertain the circumstances of his death.
Wairimu’s lawyer Phillip Murgor had obtained orders compelling prisons authorities to allow her client to attend the postmortem examination necessitating the adjustment of the slated time from 9.30 am to Wednesday afternoon.
According to her lawyer Murgor, the order was issued by Lady Justice Stella Mutuku.
“The postmortem will not proceed without her presence here,” Murgor said during a press conference at the Chiromo Funeral Parlour.
He said the order was being extracted to be served to prison authorities.
“It will be given to the prison authorities so that she can be brought,” he said.
Wairimu is being held at the Langata women’s prison.
Already, Cohen’s body has undergone an X-ray, ahead of postmortem on Wednesday.

The exercise was initially meant to be conducted on Tuesday but aborted after Murgor, acting on behalf of Wairimu, rejected the Government Pathologist on duty, Dr Peter Ndegwa.
He is said to have made some remarks at the alleged scene of crime, Cohen’s Kitisuru home, that rattled them.
The incident happened on Friday last week when Cohen’s body was found dumped in an underground water tank.
Chief Government Pathologist, his counterparts representing the Cohen’s family and Wairimu, lawyer’s, a team from the Government Chemist and detectives were present at Chiromo mortuary on Wednesday.
Wairimu is in custody pending a mental examination, ahead of September 26, when she will plead to murder charges.
