The incidents were reported in Bomet and Nyandarua.

NAIROBI, Kenya Aug 31 – Shocking incidents were reported in Nyandarua and Bomet at the weekend when four children were killed by their fathers in family disputes.

In the Bomet incident, a man slashed his two sons to death after a quarrel with his wife over money to purchase maize flour.

Konoin police chief Alex Shikodi said they were looking for the man who escaped after the incident.

And in Nyandarua, a man was reported to have hacked his two sons aged 6 and 8 to death at Mwisho wa Rami village in Milangine area .

The 32-year-old man identified as Kevin Wakabi, who was a boda boda rider later committed suicide.
Neighbours told journalists he had appeared disturbed in recent days.

His mother Margaret Wambui Wokabi the man took advantage of heavy downpour that hit the area since midmorning to commit the crime “because we did not hear screams.”

She sensed danger when she failed to locate the children as their house remained locked from inside, and their father was also nowhere to be seen, prompting her to notify her brother who broke the door only to find the man’s lifeless body dangling from a rope. Bodies of his sons too lay on a sofa set. The murder weapon was also found on the floor.

They said the man had separated with his wife four years ago and had been raising the children alone.
Other neighbours interviewed said he may have been frustrated following a failed relationship with a woman at a hotel in the neighbouring market.
