NAIROBI, Kenya, May 16 – Detective from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission on Thursday arrested six senior officials from the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) over procurement irregularities.
This follows consent by Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji to arraign the suspects.
The anti-graft body is also pursuing three other officials including former Director Consumer and Public Affairs at CA Mutua Muthusi, Tender Committee Member Peris Nkonge and CA Secretary and Secretary General of the African Telecommunications Union John Omo.
The nine are in trouble over procurement irregularities detected during the awarding of tenders for the renovation of the Authorities Agriculturalist Society of Kenya show stand.
Those arrested include CA Assistant Director and Head Procumbent officer Joyce Nyambache and five other Tender Committee members.
