, NAIROBI, Kenya, May 13 – State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena says President Uhuru Kenyatta is in the country and undertaking his official duties and pledged to do more in informing the public about his activities.

Speaking during an interview at Radio Maisha on Monday morning, she stated that President Kenyatta is fine, healthy and busy working despite his absence from the public limelight.

“I get surprised when people say that the president has gone missing in action. President Kenyatta has been in office addressing various issues and also meditating. The Head of State is fine, healthy and in high spirits as usual,” she stated.

While pointing out that the President has been spending time in his office since his return from China, she further admitted that there have been lapses in communication from her office but stated that she will make things right.

“The President is around, it doesn’t mean that because he is not seen in public he is not there, he has an office where he goes every day and he is working on several things,” she said.

She indicated that the Head of State is always engaged in a number of activities including a meeting with executives from the Global Fund.

Kanze has been in the spotlight for leading to too much speculation – including on the President’s whereabouts.
