NAIROBI, Kenya, May 24 – A body of an eight-year-old boy has been found dumped in Nairobi River during ongoing clean-up, bringing total number of bodies to 14, since the exercise began.
Just over the week, the team found two bodies of children believed to be twins wrapped in a polythene bag- one of the babies was still fighting for his life but succumbed while being rushed to a nearby health centre.
The latest discovery comes even before a probe by police upon the request of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko could be carried out and the puzzle resolved.
The Governor wants police to identify those behind what seems to be a worrying trend and stop it.
To compliment police work, the Governor has since issued a directive to Health, Environment and Inspectorate departments to investigate the same.
