Televangelist Ng’ang’a due in court over Sh3.6mn fraud

According to Nairobi Central Station Police boss Stanley Atavachi, Ng’ang’a is said to have conned a man of the monies after claiming that he could lease him some houses/file

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 5 – Televangelist James Ng’ang’a of the Neno Evangelism Centre is due in court on Friday over an alleged Sh3.6 million fraud claim.

According to Nairobi Central Station Police boss Stanley Atavachi, Ng’ang’a is said to have conned a man of the monies after claiming that he could lease him some houses.

He stated that when he could not do this, a complaint was filed before the pastor was arrested and thereafter released on bail.

“He received money from somebody pretending that he is in a position to rent houses to them amounting to Sh3.6 million. So when he failed to do that, a report was made and through investigations, an offence was established. He was arrested on Wednesday and released on cash bail to appear in court today,” he said.

The controversial pastor has in the past faced charges of killing a woman through reckless driving and threatening TV journalist Linus Kaikai.

“According to us, he is supposed to be in court today where his fate is supposed to be decided,” he stated.
