ELDORET, Kenya, Apr 30 – A Kenya Defence Forces soldier on Tuesday morning shot dead three of his relatives in Eldoret before turning the gun on himself.
Eldoret West Sub-County Commander Zachariah Bittok says police are yet to establish the motive of the incident which occurred at 5am.
According to Bittok, the solider moved from his homestead which is some three kilometres away from where he committed the crime, armed with the gun.
Locals who spoke to journalists expressed shock saying the solider had never shown signs of being troubled.
There have been increased cases of security officers committing such incidents in what has been attributed to a myriad of issues, among them depression.
