NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 18 – Police have arrested nine suspects involved in a series of robbery with violence incidences and gang rape of Maseno University students.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the nine were arrested following a tip off from members of the public.
“Following a series of reported cases of Robbery with Violence and gang rape of @Maseno_Uni students-#DCI Detectives yesterday acting on a tip-off arrested 9 suspects,” it stated through its Twitter account.
The DCI further pointed out that the suspects had an assortment of weapons which included pangas and claw bars in their possession.
Other suspects escaped but are being pursued by detectives.
