NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 4 – A woman, who last month allegedly killed and dumped a 10-month-old baby at the Kenya Meteorological department compound in Dagoretti area, Nairobi has been arrested.
According to detectives, the 22-year-old mother who worked as a maid at the met department staff quarters, has confessed to “strangling the child and dumping the body at the Staff Quarters’ dumpsite.”
A police report seen by Capital FM News shows that the woman, identified as Mercy Chepngeno Ruto, who had worked at the staff quarters for a few days, was arrested in Kuresoi.
“She confessed to strangling the child and dumping the body at the Staff Quarters’ dumpsite,” the report states in part.
She is expected in court on Monday.
