MACHAKOS, Kenya, Nov 13 – Police in Machakos have arrested a suspect over the murder of an 11-year-old boy who went missing and was later found dead.
Alfonce Mwema Mutuku alias Muthini Kituku from Matungulu was arrested Tuesday in Maungu, Taita Taveta County.
Matungulu Police Chief Samuel Mukuzi says the suspect was arrested by a DCI team deployed to track down the man behind the murder.
Mukuzi has confirmed the suspect will be arraigned before court Wednesday to face murder charges.
Nimrod Mutua Malinda, a class six pupil at St Francis of Assisi Prim School, Nguluni in Machakos was kidnapped while heading to school on September 22, 2018.
Just a day after he was reportedly kidnapped
his body was recovered stuffed in a sack while still in school uniform.
The body had been dumped at a banana plantation about 200 metres from their home at Kizito village in Machakos.
