NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 14 – Migori Governor Okoth Obado has been arrested for questioning over guns found in his house.
Obado was picked up while leaving Hilton Hotel, where he was attending a meeting with Deputy President William Ruto and diplomats.
A senior DCI official briefed of the arrest has told Capital News beat that the Governor is being questioned over 8 guns that were found in his house when EACC detectives raided it yesterday in search of evidence in a corruption investigation.
Obado is out on bond in a case in which he is accused of killing his lover Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby.
He has been active lately attending political meetings, often accompanying the Deputy President who is seeking to make in-roads in Raila Odinga’s Nyanza backyard.
