MACHAKOS, Kenya, Nov 7 – Education CS Amina Mohamed says she believes her ministry has carried out a very credible exercise since the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams began.

Speaking at Athi River in Machakos County Wednesday morning, she said her ministry has tested the systems, regulations and procedures it has put in place and they are working.

“‘We are very satisfied with that,” said Mohamed.

She also said that students she spoke were very pleased with the level play field created by the government.

“They are now assured and are receiving exam papers at the same time and are sitting the same exam and nobody has any undue advantage,” she explained. “There is total satisfaction. I haven’t heard of any single complaint from our candidates.”

She acknowledged that there had been a few mishaps but everything put in place seemed to be working because they had been able to arrest situations on time.

“We have dealt with them very expeditiously and the message is clear, the signal sent out is completely clear. Nobody is going to tolerate any malpractice and we are going to get you if you try”, the CS warned.

She emphasised that there has been no exposure of any exam paper.
