NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 9 – The family of the late Mzee Peter Musyoka father to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has described him as an astute mathematician although he never went to school.

Speaking during his burial ceremony at his home in Kalimani, Tseikuru, his grandson Kennedy Musyoka stated that this ability helped him to run a shop which he used to support his family.

“He was an astute mathematician after he acquired knowledge in Mombasa where he worked as a casual labourer at the Kilindini Port. This ability served him well especially as a shopkeeper,” he stated.

He further emphasised his love for his large family.

“Mzee married his first wife, the late Sarah Musyoka in the late forties and they were blessed with two children, the late Lilian Muthui and Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, my father. He later married his second wife, mama Agnes Muli Musyoka with which they were blessed with 11 children,” he stated.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto were among leaders present together with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

A gigantic dome was erected at the Independent Baptist Church grounds in Tseikuru Township to accommodate the crowd that attended the ceremony.
