EACC detectives search Obado’s homes in graft probe

, NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 13 – EACC detectives were Tuesday morning searching the homes of Migori Governor Okoth Obado in an active investigation on alleged corruption.

Spokesman Yassin Amaro confirmed that EACC officers were looking for crucial documents at the Governor’s Nairobi and Migori homes in a coordinated probe.

Obado is accused of embezzling over Sh2 billion, some of which EACC says was wired to accounts of his close family members in local and foreign banks.

He is out on bond in a murder case, in which he is accused of killing his lover Sharon Otieno.

He has been recently active at political functions, often accompanying Deputy President William Ruto who is seeking to make inroads to Raila Odinga’s home turf in Nyanza.
