NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 8 – Police have arrested five people found trafficking narcotic drugs worth Sh3 million.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects were nabbed at Konje Estate in Meru.
The DCI stated on Twitter that the four men and one woman were arrested following a tip-off from the public.
“Five suspects found Trafficking Narcotics weighing 103Kgs & worth over 3million shillings will Today be charged in Court. The five; four men & one woman were arrested at Konje Estate within Meru Town by #DCI Detectives following a tip-off from members of the Public,” it stated.
They are expected to be arraigned in court on Thursday.
On Wednesday, narcotics worth millions of shillings were confiscated at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) while on transit to New Zealand and China.
The drugs – which included heroine and methamphetamine were seized by detectives from the DCI.
Officials stated that the drugs were concealed in a carton containing makeup kits.
